THE FUND

The Alcuin Fund for Schools is a foundation hosted by The King Baudouin Foundation. It has been contributing to education in Europe since 2017.

Mission

Conscious of the great need for educational alternatives to enable all children to succeed, the Alcuin Fund supports initiatives at grass-roots level that can respond to the variety of current educational needs of children in Belgium and more widely in Europe.

ORGANISATION

The foundation is managed by a governing board consisting of the founders, a representative of the King Baudouin Foundation and a qualified person chosen by the other board members.

BEQUESTS AND DONATIONS

It is possible to make a bequest or a donation to the Alcuin Fund, which will be subject to the same tax benefit structure as its umbrella foundation, the King Baudouin Foundation.

The medievalist Olivier Hanne presents Alcuin, a central figure from the Carolingian Renaissance and patron of our foundation, who is as relevant now as he was then.

CALL FOR PROJECTS

The Alcuin Fund is seeking particularly to support projects in independent schools which propose an innovative teaching method, notably adapted to the education of children with learning difficulties or disability, or children with high potential, as well as children from underprivileged backgrounds.
